NORTHERN SOMERSET CONFERENCE OF LUTHERAN CHURCHES

Mission Statement

"We Do Better......Together"    is the theme that has brought the thirteen congregations of the Northern Somerset Conferance of the Allegheny Synod, ELCA  together.   Realizing that the Church resides in the congregation, but also realizing that the Church is all congregations together,  the aim of this web site is to assist the congregations in sharing their lives with each other in a way that makes us all stronger and more faithful to our Lord's calling.  "We are ONE in the Spirit,  We are ONE in the Lord !!"

CONFERENCE NEWS

The Conference Meeting on April 24th was very productive; the five working groups reported on the progress they had made in refining their goals, and asked for and received feedback from the others on how better to shape their missions. Now that the working groups are able to work independently on their own initiative, it was decided that no further monthly meetings are necessary.

A Conference Meeting will take place on August 26th at 7:00 PM at Laurel Trinity Lutheran Church to recap what the groups have accomplished over the summer.

At the Conference meeting on March 20th, we discussed the ideas brought forth at the February workshop, and decided we could make better use of them by dividing into five working groups addressing specific issues and interests.

The groups are as follows:

Rostered Leaders - How best can we use our ministerial resources and physical structures to the advantage of all?

Youth Ministry - Developing ideas and plans to care for and involve our youth in our mission.

Communication - Developing ways to share ideas, plans, and information among all in the conference.

Programming - Developing programs to address the needs of our people and mission.

Congregational Ministry - Developing ways to encourage more involvement by laypersons into our mission.

These groups will continue to work independently during the months and years ahead, proving that "We do Better Together!"
